Our Governance Model

Our structure combines independent oversight with the operational flexibility a systems organization needs.

SERA's governance is built to protect the mission while allowing the organization to work effectively across sectors. It rests on four commitments:

Independent oversight: decision-making accountable beyond any single individual.
Operational flexibility: the ability to act across corporate, institutional, and field contexts.
Conflict-of-interest safeguards: clear policies protecting integrity in commercial relationships.
Public-benefit accountability: alignment with ANBI principles and the public interest.

ANBI Alignment

Public-benefit status

SERA Foundation is establishing its governance in alignment with the principles that underpin ANBI (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling) status in the Netherlands, the designation for organizations operating in service of the public benefit.

Formal ANBI registration is pending the completion of the foundation's establishment. The required disclosures (including our policy plan, board composition, remuneration policy, and financial reporting) will be published on this page on completion.
