Diversey's Linens for Life™

A circular procurement system that transforms discarded hospitality linens into new products manufactured by women producer communities, and returns them to the industry that created the demand.

The Initiative

Rather than a standalone sustainability project, Linens for Life™ is designed as a replicable procurement model, built to scale across markets and geographies.

Every year, the hospitality industry retires vast quantities of linen that remain materially valuable but are treated as waste. Linens for Life™ treats that material as the starting point of a new value chain: recovered, processed to specification, and manufactured into new products by women producer communities working to commercial standards.

The result is a closed loop in which environmental diversion, ethical sourcing, and women's economic participation are not separate goals but features of a single, operational system.

How It Works

A closed-loop procurement model

01

Textile diversion

Discarded hospitality linens are recovered from hotel operations before they enter waste streams.

02

Sorting & processing

Recovered textiles are assessed, sorted, and prepared as feedstock for production to defined specifications.

03

Women-led production

Women producer communities transform the material into new products through structured, standards-aligned manufacturing.

04

Finished circular products

Completed products meet the quality and traceability requirements of commercial buyers.

05

Return to hospitality

Products re-enter the hospitality sector, closing the loop and sustaining ongoing demand.

What It Combines

Four outcomes, one system

Textile diversion

Materially valuable linen is redirected from waste into productive reuse.

Ethical sourcing

Production is traceable and accountable, from recovered material to finished good.

Women's livelihoods

Women producer communities participate as suppliers within a formal value chain.

Operational impact

Hospitality partners advance measurable sustainability outcomes through procurement.

Why It Matters

A model, not a pilot

Many circular initiatives remain isolated pilots, disconnected from the long-term market relationships needed to create durable impact. Linens for Life™ is built differently, as a procurement system with defined roles, specifications, and commercial logic that can be repeated wherever hospitality operations, recoverable materials, and producer capacity meet.

Designed to be replicated, not admired.

Partners & Impact

Built through partnership

Linens for Life™ brings together hospitality groups, the expertise of Diversey, women producer communities, and SERA's procurement systems design within a shared framework of mutual accountability.

As the initiative scales, this page will report verified outcomes: textile diverted, women engaged, products delivered, and procurement partnerships established. Metrics forthcoming
